Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah attended a Royal Health Awareness Society RHAS Board of Trustees meeting at the society’s headquarters in Amman. RHAS Vice Chairman, Rami Farraj, gave welcoming remarks which were followed by a presentation by society Director Enaam Barrishi on its achievements and future plans.

RHAS was established in 2005 under the direction of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah to promote health and to empower Jordanians to adopt healthy lifestyles and behaviors. Its community-based projects are implemented in accordance with the needs of the communities and revolve around the national health priorities.

The society implements many programs across the Kingdom such as the Healthy Schools Accreditation Program which introduces standards for healthy school environments, thereby developing healthy lifestyles and eating habits in order to prepare children and adolescents for healthy adulthood. King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness, Think First injury prevention Project, Healthy Community Clinic Project, Global Micro Clinic Project, and Shababna project.
